1st Sketch Pencil

I have not gotten my shipments of pencil kits yet, so I had to run down to Woodcraft and grab what they had just to get going on finding the right pencil for my son who loves to draw. This pencil will work great for shading like Daniel said in my other post. The smaller pencils will be for the precision drawing.

There is a lot of shine on this pencil, but I could slightly see some of the brass tubing. I was going to paint it black then I figured it would probably show even more that the brass. It's hard to tell what is the brass tubing or just the gold swirls.

I think it looks great! And with this color blank, I'd think that if anything, seeing some of the brass through it would almost add some depth to how the color looks?
