This is the first kitless fountain I have made that actually comes close to what I'm working toward. It's made from Cumberland rod from Ed and Dawn. The center band is a 5/16" brass washer turned down on the wood lathe, and it was threaded with tap and die (14x1.5).

Be glad for criticisms and suggestions.

I really enjoy when people send in original stuff..kitless, or custom parts, etc...watching the evolution of pens by some of the talented people here, sure is grand

Doug that looks very nice. It has a classic feel to it. I notice some circular sanding marks on the lower barrel by the centerband. I've not worked with cumberland rod before, but have you tried sanding with the "grain" between grits?
