1st pen, 2nd shot at photos

I've been taking an insane amount of photos and getting frustrated in the process. I used some cardboard boxes to make an enclosure and borrowed a CFL bulb from the vanity to try to improve my photo.
This is the same pen I posted before, but hopefully you will think these photos are at least slightly better.
I tried to get both sides of both the cap and the body.

You need to go into manual mode and start playing with the settings more in regards to the lighting

I noticed that the pen has ok lighting but the cap of the pen seems darker. every time you change the settings and take a picture, write down what the settings were. should help you get better pictures
