1st Cavalry Decal

Got another decal kit, since I couldn't find the old stuff. This pen is to replace one I made with Osage Orange a couple of years ago, for my barber up in Indy. The OO pen turned brown and the CA finish cracked all over it. I was telling Joe Fyfe about it, and he said he had just the blanks for me. He was right. Thanks Joe! :wink: Although the black stripe and horse head looks brown, I think he will live with it. Gonna get his name and rank engraved on the opposite side from the decal. He is a sgt. purple heart recipient of the Viet Nam war, and very proud of his service. I'm proud of him too. ALL of them. Thanks for looking.

Speaking as an infantry guy I can say the 1st Cav guys were highly respected in nam. If my memory is correct the campaign ribbon was yellow and red similar to the Vietnamese flag. Your pen is a fitting tribute.
