1930s Maple Burl Pen Set

A family friend gifted me a piece of maple burl that her grandpa cut off a tree with his friend in the 1930s. She wanted a small keepsake from it, then I could use the rest for whatever. She is retired and likes to write, so I made her a pen set from it as a reminder of her grandpa. Slimline and a Sedona FP with CA finish.

The figure in that burl sure makes for some great looking pens. Nice job and thanks for sharing the photo. I naturally was thinking chain saw as I read the story before seeing the photo. Bet the harvesting of that burl was an adventure!
