Default 100 Year old Live Oak

A colleague ask us to make a pen and pencil set for her husband. They had a 100 year old Live Oak that was hit by lightening and died. She asked how much I would charge...

I told her I would do it for free if I could have some wood. She said some was rotting and bugs had taken residence in some of it. I got a truck full of Oak and...

The Result...

Really nice !!!!

But .... that oak does NOT look "live" to me !!!!

Thanks everyone. I had look up the "Live Oak" thing. They just said it was Oak and didn't know what kind.

I absolutely got the better end of that deal. I need more like that.
