I saw a comment the other day about throwing away antler that was to pithy to use. This pen was made from an antler that had been in a shed for years, had mice chew marks and very dark color from age inside the antler with very open grain. Turned it to size, applied lots of thin ca, smoothed surface with skew, sanded 600, 800, EEE polish and waxed. I use a lot of "old and pithy" antler on my bullet pens and they are very popular and sell well. :D

Great looking pen. I never throw away old, pithy antlers. They can make some truly beautiful pens. I made a Jr. gent a few weeks back that had greens, reds and dark browns in it. Everyone I showed it to could not guess what it was made of.

Nice pen. I made a closed-end for my brother for Christmas using a piece of antler that was tough to finish because of the marrow. I thought I was going to use an entire bottle of CA before it was done!

Anyway, good work!
