Working in wood has brought some surprises. But this little owl that turned up really tickled me! There was a fairly large knot in the middle of this Maple blank. I put some gold embossing powder in the holes followed by CA. I let it set awhile and turned it late one evening.

Wow, that's a hoot! *groans*

Dontcha just love those little suprises? That's really cool! I have a BOW pen that has a bird face in it. It was one of my first pens, and is in my permanent collection.

I'd keep that pen for any nighttime journaling that you do. :)

I love watching these surprises appearing, sometimes they can spoil a blank, but it certainly added character to yours!

Great work![:p]

This one is going to a very dear cousin of mine who is retired from professional art career - and lost most of her portfolio in a flood.

I DO love these little suprises! thanks all.
