Question Pen Mechanisms

I am in the planning stages for writing a book on pen turning. This book will have a focus on the how, why and design of pens. I wish to include a section on pen mechanisms, both twist and click. Looking for help on types and some sort of data on when and where they are used. Browsing the net I have located sources for approximately 10 different types. The problem is different vendors appear to have different names for the same general type. would appreciate any information any about the different types, sources and specs. I will give credit to all who assist.

If there are any areas that you all think should be included in a book on pen making, let me know.
