If you are talking about stabilizing wood that needs to dry to prevent checking/cracking, yes. and it works. Remember most soaps have a wax component in them.

If you mean using soap to stabilize soft wood for more strength, nope and I don't see how it would work.

That's what I'm talking about. Putting green wood in soap and water to prevent checking/cracking. And thanks.
