1) Show off your pens – bring in recent ones to share
2) Casting Alumilite – Larry Jones will be demonstrating how to cast Alumilite in a pressure pot
3) Larry's presentation will have about a 45 minute break from when the resin is mixed and placed under pressure until it is ready to use. Let's fill up this time with any club member who has any experience to share about casting. Bring in homemade or purchased molds, unusual things you have cast, examples of pens, etc. We can have a discussion of the different types of casting resins along with their pros and cons.
Also don't forget the annual Woodturners Competition and Exhibition. There are three classes from novice to expert and a category that includes pens. Details and entry forms are available at Events at Richmond Woodturners
