Default deletion of threads

I was trying to find a thread from Paul in OKC about what he was selling. It is no longer there? If there was a problem with either a)the thread, b)someone's post or c) the author of the post, why delete it? Cannot we start locking the thread, deleting the offensive post or something. Deleting it just causes confusion.

I was getting ready to send Paul money and now I dont know what is up or wrong.

What exactly was it you were looking for? How long ago was this post made? Did you try the Archived files? Give me a little more information and I'll try to help find it.

Tom, I noticed in the classified add section, once the original poster/seller marks the item "closed" the post is deleted in a hurry by the moderator, wether that is good or bad, I don't know.

I have ask to clarify that myself. I can understand adds being removed if things are sold, but didn't know that was done. Do they go to the archives or are they gone forever[:I]
btw Tom I sent you a pm!

That topic got accidentally moved, it should have been pushed to the archive.

I put it back in the classifieds archive, so you should be able to see it.

Just to clarify... they were getting moved to a non-public area just to keep down the clutter in the classifieds. I recently installed a feature that allows the moderators to push individual classified topics to the archive a few days after they are marked sold. So you will be able to find them by browsing the archive or searching with the include "Archives Posts" search option checked.

Thanks Jeff, I understand what you are doing and was just not sure if I was searching wrong or if something happened.
