Trying to put a spiral or twist on a S&P grinder reminded me of reading a thread back in August, I've managed to better the .12 turns per 1" as per JR's specs. What I did was to join a 60t and 22t with a 7mm pen tube as a bush after drilling the centres out to 7mm and then drilling a 2mm hole to lock the 2 together with a small nail as the sprockets won't glue with CA. The pen tube will have to be drilled out to 6.5mm so that it rotates on the primary shaft. Gear arrangement was 12t primary 60x12t secondary 60x22t primary and 55 on the final. This gave me a .07 turn per 1"
If you want even less twist try 60x12 instead of 60x22.
Does anyone out there have access to gear cutting facilities to cut gears on the 60t sprockets as there is enough room for 12t to be machined on them? Now I need to order some more gears from JR.
Will try to down load a photo later.
Contact me for more details if needed.
