Default Vendors - first call

I'm just wrapping up contacting outside vendors - another few days of that to wrap up loose ends, and I'll begin stage 2 next week.

Stage 2 is where I start looking for Bash donations a bit closer to home - the IAP vendors. I'll start those calls and emails sometime into late next week...

(If any vendor has donations that are burning a hole in their pockets, though, please feel free to send me a PM anytime!)

It's shaping up to be one of the best BASHes ever...let's keep it going!

FYI, stage 3 is when I ask members for Boxes of Blanks (or BOB prizes)...that'll happen in January, to fill holes in our contest prize offerings.

So - stage 1 almost done, stage 2 starting soon....mark your calendars, as February isn't far off!

Just another call - if a vendor hasn't been contacted, and wants to donate a nice prize for a fellow member to win during the Bash, it would be very much appreciated.

Bash prizes are almost entirely funded by donations, supplemented by a couple of purchased prizes to round out the pot - if any vendor wants to donate, we'd love to give your prize to a deserving member! :)

Are the prizes going to be 'tossed in a pile' again this year, or do vendors have the option of 'sponsoring a contest'?

We aren't going to have 'named' contests this year. I think that having vendors sponsor a contest with naming rights took emphasis away from the intense hard work that the bash volunteers do to plan and run every detail of the contests in the sense of community spirit. It's also a bit easier on the planning teams, as it eliminates one more big planning issue (we've been working on the prizes for three months so far!)

That being said, we're definitely going to acknowledge the wonderful prizes and fantastic vendors that are donating those prizes, but without naming contests, so it'll be a bit more understated. It's a community celebration, after all!

So long story short: We're thrilled to get any prizes, and we'll definitely find a good place for them (not just tossed into a pile) - but no named contests this year.

As always, all vendors, members, volunteers, etc. who contribute to the Bash will be listed on the main page for the duration of the Bash, and prizes and donors will be acknowledged in the primary post of each contest as well.

Please ask, or PM, if you have any more concerns or questions...
